AC Stalling/Car wont turn over
AC Stalling/Car wont turn over
Last year I moved from Hawaii to Pennsylvania, during the summer last year (2010) my car turned off completely 3 different times during the summer. I didn’t know what made that happen but I figured I must of stalled out. So I went on winter came and went with no problems besides cold weather. Summer 2011 came and so did the stall issues. I noticed it had something to do with the AC being turned on, it would happen randomly but more often than last year. I figured it has something to do with my tune so I decided to schedule a tune, which is this weekend.
Anyway about 3 weeks ago, I decided to get my clutch installed since I have a dyno/tune coming up. After the clutch install I’ve noticed the AC stall issue happens all the time now. When I have the AC on and I come to a stop, slow down, or turn I push in the clutch and the rpm’s drop rapidly making the car stall. Now my question is, will a tune fix this issue?
Also since the clutch install I’ve been having random ignition issues. My car doesn’t want to start at times. I turn the key, my gauges and stereo gets power but no start. It doesn’t even try to crank. My voltages read between 14.1 & 14.5 but sometimes I seen it drop as low as 13.5. I didn’t remove my plugs but I check to see if they were tight. I cleaned my terminals, and did the alternator test by removing the ground while the car is on and it remained on. So my question is, does this issue have anything to do with the clutch install? Or could it just be my battery? Mini Battery BTW.
Thanks in advance for any help you guys could provide.

do you have a boost guage? look at the vacuum next time. sounds like the car cant produce enough vaccuum with the ac on with the cams. i had the same problem with my kelfords and exedy triple. you just need to turn up the idle on the throttle body
Thanks for the input guys.
Cfdfireman1, I really hope your wrong because that sounds like it's gonna be *****/expensive to fix. Lol.
Sktng22, yea I do have a boost gauge. The vacuum is about 10 with no ac on and 6-7 with it on. I guess with I take it to Ivey this weekend he could take care of that. Now I'm worried about the starting issue I really hope it isn't the flywheel.

When your car doesn't start, can you hear the starter pinion engage? It makes a click sound.
Stalling with the A/C on can also be a result of the ISC plunger or BISS being fouled (covered with carbon deposits).
I would remove both and make sure they're clean before the re-flash. Search on how to set the BISS.
Like mentioned above, the flywheel can cause this because of the decreased rotational mass. However, I would make sure your ISC and BISS are clean before making any adjustments.

lol, I was doing the same thing and not only did it became annoying but there were times where I would forget while making a turn and I'll have to become the hulk just to avoid an accident.
Just had a new clutch put in by Spec-Ops motorsports down here in Fayettnam and I was experiencing this as well. They retuned the car and adjusted the biss screw.Guess this is a common problem the owner said alot of times the biss screw needs to be adjusted after going to big cams. Now my AC runs perfect idles around 1K with it off and 1100 with the AC on.
like i said.. turn up idle. when you go get a tune theyll do it for you otherwise you can do it yourself with a screwdriver
