Stock timing belt safe for 500+hp??

Trying to figure out if it is okay to use a brand new stock timing belt in my build. I know that the other belts have Kevlar and other materials which strengthen it. However, i am still curious.

Thanks in advance.

There's cams but otherwise the belt is doing the same amount of work whatever the horsepower.

Gates makes two belts, an OEM replacement which is black and the Gates Racing which is blue.

Revving quicker and higher, plus fighting against stronger valve springs will put more stress on the belt, but I've yet to see any solid evidence showing the OEM belt isn't up to the task since it already has copper reinforcement wire inside it.

i'm not trying to dis the stock belt (its what i use), but copper is pretty weak sauce for providing enhanced strength, especially at elevated temperature. kevlar would be much better.

That's what Gates Racing uses in their blue belt.
