Yeah, I'm starting to see a lot of people are saying the S series are fantastic...
That AMS Cam Test comparison really has me wondering why though... Wish the Kelford 280's were around for them to test at that time back to back with those others. I'm guessing the GSC's have a different grind to their S2/S3 since then?

How much spool do you think is lost from the S2 to the S3?

Thanks for this information guys!

Still trying to decide on GSC S3 or Kelford 280
I love my stock-like spool. Don't want to kill all of it. haha.

Evo VIII for me.

the custom grind referenced on the FPBlack was Mikey's was it not. i spoke with English Racing (They spec'd that cam) and they said the newer S3's are pretty close to the custom ones Mikey ran.

Good to know. Maybe I'll go S3. I wonder if they tried the Kelford 280's and what their input was on those.

Yes, it was in reference to Mikey's car. That thing is a beast.

ER/ GSC S3's. Give Aaron @ English a call and he'll get you setup with some GSC bumpsticks.

I was gonna sell my S3's to get theirs and ER told me there was no point as they were "close enough" that it would be a waste of time/effort.

The S3s are similar to the custom grinds that Mikey has in his car..

I have the exact same cams as Mikey, and they are not the same thing as S3's. They are similar. I purchased these cams because Aaron at English Racing had these cams specifically made for a high compression, high lift, 2.4L with a black. He designed them with simulation software. I made 590 ftlbs of torque on a Mustang dyno at 33psi. These cams are purpose built, and do an amazing job.

Call Aaron.

My cams are in between the S2 and S3 with more lift than either. The problem we had was getting the billets for 12mm lift.

My cams
Mikeys
Acrees
One or other set (cant remember who they went to)

Those are all that out there right now that I can remember. Just for ease of getting a cam that is close to what we need and makes the power like mine we have been selling the S3 instead. I had called them S2Rs for a little while but that is a misnomer and not something Greg was interested in calling them. Technically they are ER2s until I can think of something more creative.

Aaron

Well folks... I think the verdict is out for which cam to get for an FP Black on a 2.4!

Thanks for all the help!!! Time to pull those kelford 272's out. It's great that I think I got a new home for them already. They served me well.
