Vibrating car at takeoff?
Vibrating car at takeoff?
Got my self an Evo IX -06, EU spec since i'm a swede, it has about 70000 km on the clock. I know the drivetrain can make some funny/strange noises now and then. Stock engine with a 3" HKS exhaust from turbo and back and stock clutch.
But one thing kinda bothers me, when I try to get of the clutch pedal slow and smooth to get a easy start, the car tend to vibrate untill clutch pedal is fully released (it feels abit like you run over the white highway "rumble strip" shaking). If I keep the clutch at the position where it starts to engage the flywheel the car vibrates when rolling slow forward, it's kinda annoying when I'm trying parking my car. As soon as clutch is fully engaged the vibrate stops. Both when using 1st gear and reverse, and trying to set of in 2nd just makes the vibrating even worse.
If I just release the clutch pedal fast then there's no vibrating, but you get the kind of start which all kids get when they first launch of in a car at a driving school
Any ideas?

Which mount should i replace? There are 3 mount if im not wrong. Standing infront of the car you have one quite big on the left handside next to the timingbelt cover. One below the turbo abit to the right. And then one on the back side below the intake. All 3 or just the lower front one?

Lower front is going to make the most difference and still not vibrate your dash off. The others arent really necessary unless you want to be safe and drag the car alot. All the lower one is going to do is prvent your engine from rocking back and forth which seems to be the problem you're having. Get a blox one. Only about 75 and youll notice a hell of a difference.
This is what I'm going through also. I'm pretty sure mine isn't a mount that's causing it. My clutch disc is. I have a kevlar segemnted disc and riding the clutch or slipping it to much caused the disc to glaze over a bit. So I was told to not slip the clutch on first gear while getting off the line. And also to do fast and firm shifts to take the glaze of the disc.
Order complete, let's hope it makes the diffrence. Anyone got clues of what else it could be if not the engine mount? Clutch/Flywheel is warped?
But then it should vibrate all the time when driving.
