Cluth pedal vibration at 2500 RPMs

Ok first i did a search and didnt find anyone that was having the same kind of vibration or at the same time.

My factory clutch went out after 22,000 miles, so i replaced the clutch with the Exedy twin disc racing clutch. I now have 30,000 miles on my car.... Now about 2,000 miles ago my clutch began to make a loud growling noise that i can explain any better than "it sounds exactly like Chewbacca from the star wars movies" and it is loud. it would only make the noise when i was releasing the clutch and it was just starting to grip. once it completely gripped it wouldnt make the noise.

Now this is what is happening new.

when i am driving everything is normal until i get between 2200 and 2500 RPMs. when i get between those RPMs the clutch pedal vibrates violently and you can even hear the vibration. it doesnt do it before 2200 RPMs or after 2500 RPMs. it doesnt do it when i press in the clutch and rev the engine, yet it does do it in every gear when driving even reverse. it just started to do this a few days ago.

Any ideas?

I installe dthe clutch. I have done numerous clutches, none on Evos, but a few of them were the 3000 gt VR-4. i Know i installed it correctly. I am almost wondering if I warped the clutch plate or the flywheel. because i did notice a few weeks ago the car started to wheel hop if i try ot take off kind of fast.

My guess is either a warped Flywheel, damaged clutch plate, or a bad throw out barring.. i just think if it is a throw out barring that it would vibrate all the time. and usually you can feel the throw out barring going bad when the clutch is depress.

I had the same problem on a supra and it turned out one of the pressure plate fingers had broken causing the throw-out bearing to shake the release fork and that would transfer all he way back to the pedal. You can try to pull off the release fork grommet on the bellhousing and look inside with a small light to check. Also check all your motor mounts for cracking esp. the front mount behind the radiator. A broken mount can cause all kind of problems with clutch engagement.

The above is also my best guess. Usually damage to the pressure plate on installlation will cause this problem but with plenty of miles on it, just sounds like it failed.

well unfortunately i dont have a hoist anymore to pull the clutch out. so i am stuck taking it somewhere, and being charged 12 hours for labor and then the cost of a new clutch... and HOPE that is what is wrong with it. i am almost wondering either a warped pressure plate or a broken spring on my clutch pressure plate

well just got it back from AAMCO the transmission shop here in sioux city. Found out it isnt the transmission and it isnt the clutch. the vibration is coming from the engine.

I have done some research on this forum and are going to tear into it a little to see what i come up with these are the things i am going to check.

1. Check the timing marks ( thinking maybe the balance shaft got thrown off a mark... timing belt seems kind of loose and seen that i have an oil pan gasket leak right next to where the balance shaft is... so i am thinking that maybe between the high speed at the track, timing belt being loose, and maybe oil being on the belt that it may have slipped a tooth on the balance shaft.)
2. check the motor mounts to see that they are still strong, intacked and no bolts are loose.

Any other suggestions are a great help
