clutch slave broke off tranny
clutch slave broke off tranny
Today while driving the clutch did not return when pressed and a snapping sound was heard. Didn't think it was too big a deal but when I looked the slave bracket (cast piece of tranny) had snapped off the transmission. The slave rod itself was bent and the hydraulic seat was coming out of the slave. Anyone heard of this happening before? Im pretty confident I can fab a bracket to hold the slave using the bell housing bolts to bolt it on but im unsure if the clutch is blown or the throwout bearing is damaged. Is there any way to check the throw out bearing? Clutch is an exedy stage 1 with approx 70k miles. I drive pretty light on the car and don't beat on it. Thanks for any help or advice.
Well I was able to fab a new bracket that bolts to the bellhousing and holds the slave so im not out a tranny casing. Now I just need to get ahold of a new slave and hope the clutch is still working. Pain in the ***.
Not adjusted properly. Fluid return hole blocked on slave and causing rod to be super stiff. Eventually over time it stresses everything enough to break the weakest link.

Hmm I've seen that video before since I was planning on doing a clutch soon. This clutch job was done by a shop before I bought the car. Ill make sure to adjust it right when I put the new slave on. Lol.
