I have an Exedy Twin Disc now and wouldn't recommend it. You have to replace discs WAY too often (3-5k Miles) AND (especially for $500 a set assuming you don't a pressure/mid plate). The clutch is a pain in traffic as the discs get heated up easily and aren't as efficient. Nuff said? If you are daily driving the car I would recommend the ACT XT Solid Disc, as they are great to drive, handle loads of power, and last for 40k miles. http://www.jnztuning.net/product_inf...oducts_id=2032
I have similar mods and after some research I just bought a new ACT MB7-XTSS. XT = extreme pressure plate good to 565 ft lbs of torque at the flywheel, SS = organic sprung full face street disc. For a daily driver I think that this is very good choice at your/my power level.
If you are keeping the torque at or under 370 at the wheels the ACT MB7-HDSS (heavy duty pressure plate good to 510 ft lbs of torque at the flywheel) is probably a better choice. Less clutch pedal pressure and less prone to high RPM lock out.

I think something was wrong with your adjustment in the pedal assembly. the twin HD is actually a very nice clutch system and has very good driving manors. It was easy in traffic etc.

if you dont need extremely high TQ holding capacity then you dont need an exedy twin.. theres so much more out there.. i switched to a exedy triple hd myself, but holding onto my twin hd just incase i dont like the triple.
theres lots of good clutches out there, just research and youll see. i never ran a act in a evo so i dont know, but have in dsm's and never had a issue.
i think the main key is to making sure you setup the pedal assembly travel right , etc.. otherwise no clutch is gonna perform well period on your car.

So how is it that i had zero issues other then what i just said above and my cars modified more then most? this clutch worked great for me for 2 years now.
I actually followed guides tho and setup my master cylinder properly so its getting proper adjustments and not burning out the clutch system.
This isnt the guide i followed, but its one of the best online to my knowledge. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYJxQyjIhUw
The one i followed was TRE's.
Exedy twin disk is very nice indeed, and it actually does behave well in traffic or drag strip, what i do not like about it is how it is an arm and a leg for one. If you looking to make 450-500 ft/lb of torque then ACT XT will be fine. Having your clutch as the weak point is actually better and will save your engine down the road, plus if you making 450-500 tq then you are pushing the oem long block limits anyways.
I've had my current Exedy Twin HD for 3 years. I've put about 40-50k miles on it. Not once has it ever given me any trouble what so ever. I'm upgrading to a Exedy Triple right now for the power goals I'm expecting. I love Exedy clutches.
The Exedys are great. There is a new clutch that just came out that is getting some great reviews. The Carbonetics Carbon Blade. It is said to our preform the Twins and its about 500 dollars cheaper. people are saying the drivablity is amazing, possibly due to how the kit changes your set up from a pull to push style throw out.
I'm curious about the Blade too. I've only found like two people with it though. They both liked it, but I'd still like to read more. I'd also like to see exactly how much it can hold. It isn't rated too high, but no one seems to really know.
