Torque on main studs

Torque on main studs

I bought arp main studs and i was wondering how much i need to torque them down?

^ That. Make sure to use the arp lube or the torque spec is higher.

u might wanna check clearence on main bearings since stock bolts hold it to 40ftlbs ,had issues with a line hone on few engines

not the jack the thread but what do you mean by that just have the mains line honed and fix the problem? or is there somthing i am missing reason why im asking this is i just destroyed my main bearings with 1,000 miles on my engine, and i want to make sure i do it right this time.

You are tightening the main caps tighter, which changes the clearances for the bearings. You will want to check your clearances with it torqued down, and adjust as needed to get the clearances you want. Good luck.

my engine builder went 60ft/lb with arp lube.

so it would be best to take everything to a machine shop, and let them do that or is there some kind of guide as to what i should be looking for?
