Actually, i'll probably have Road Race do the install for me since they only want something like $150 to install them. What cams are you going with?

I think i'm going staggered too. No, that price is just me calling in as an anonymous customer.

My only concern right now is that people are saying no way in hell will it pass CA emission sniffer and I also need to see how HB mitsu feels about cams. I'm also driving my friends Evo with staggered set this Thursday. I'm curious how it feels.

Very true especially with 264/264 and stock cam gears

The dealer we go to here is really cool. He used to work for RMR so he services everyone under warranty, regardless of mods. Unless the mod busted something, there's no need to worry.

I'm not going to tell him, i'm actually just curious what the procedure is to service cars with modified cams.

not to cause undue concern but make sure that those 3 points are strictly loctighted and torqued- check them often too! I dont prefer 3 pionts but they should be ok

I am having Tomei cams along with a stage 3 head installed this week. The head had to be modified to accept the cams (Ferrea springs and retainers). Duration is 260, but lift is higher than HKS 272. 11.5 intake, I believe. With the increased airflow from the head and higher lift, after tuning the top end should be pretty strong at 22 lbs of boost. I'm looking forward to the results. I'm currently running HKS 264/264 combo, which has been very satisfactory, but this new setup should better complement the headwork.

Hey fellas,

I'm not getting cams any time soon, I have a daughter on the way. However, in the distant future, I plan to add cams and dp to what I have now. I'm pretty happy, but more is always better, heh.

My question may help others out there, so I'll ask now. If you are sticking with stock turbo and you get 264s, 272s, or a combo, are they a bolt-on? IOW, do you need to upgrade the valvetrain? Do you need a fuel pump or FPR or something?

I had an N/A Integra GSR with Toda B Spec cams, and it was better to upgrade the fuel and get ti retainers and stiffer valvesprings with that setup. I saw a post by Buschur that said the stock retainers were extremely light, but didn't match with aftermarket springs?

Oh well, any insight is appreciated.

BR did post about the springs(he includes them in his stages with noheadwork) and time will tell but many folks have the cams running hard and for the better part of 6 months- I have heard of no failures. The HKS are bolt on and great quality! A fuel pump would be advisable with the supporting mods (TB computer. and in my case cam gears)

Does anyone have dynosheet evidence of which set-up is better? HKS 264/264, HKS 264in/272ex, HKS 272s, or Works 269s? If someone has a JUN ste-up, feel free to include them. I originally thought of running WORKS 269s but they are priced too high.

I have read the Automotosport sheets, but Im not sure if those would parallel our EVOs.

The sheets for these set-ups with the stock turbo would be great!!!

IF YOU DO CAMS,,, GET THE UPGRADED HEAD BOLTS!!!!! It is worth the 100 for the piece of mind!

I have 272 cams and they made me stop with engine mods for now because it pulled so hard. I am in love, The idle is choppy and it has stalled 3 times,, but that was in stop and go traffic with ac and 100 degree heat.

why put in take the head off? your just putting in cams, the stock head bolts should be good for the 400bhp the stock turbo is capable of. (octane junkies, race gas of course..) Its worth the extra $100 but not worth the extra $/hassle/time to put some arps in.
