I cant see how you can tell the difference, its probably in your mind. Dont worry about it, but have it replaced if you like. No damage is done to your engine.

I know how you feel though, I always think that my car runs a little faster after I wash it! Maybe it is just happy, but it is getting to be somewhat of a habit though, I normally wash it at least once a week, usually twice. It is so bad that I bought my father, among other things, the biggest baddest shopvac that Sears has. Of course I do enjoy using it too, that damn thing will pick up a 15 pound bowling ball!

I agree with you Joey. The car does seems to run faster after a wash. And as for you altezza, 5W 30 is ok. Oil is multi viscosity and the 5W means its thinner when its cold compared to 10w. But after the car warms up, It stays in the 30 range.

Don't worry, your car is fine. The difference of Mobil 5w30 and 10w30 should not affect your daily driving at all in Socal weather, you should not be able to tell the difference between the two.

5w30 is fine in the winter, but you'll want 10w30 in the summer. its all in the owners manual.

I would like to... but most dealerships require at least an hour to do so, and an appointment. I tried taking my car to my dealership on saturday around 11am, and they were booked for the day. not even time for an oilchange! I also work everyday, so i don't have the time to take the 2hr lunch it requires for the dealerships to do it.

And being as how I need to drive over 200 miles tomorrow, I needed an oilchange pretty badly, so I went to the EZ-Lube during my lunch hour at work, which took about 10 minutes.

Now that I know to tell them to MAKE SURE they use 10w30 i don't mind using them in the future when i'm in a hurry.

The 5w30 is cool. But getting your oil changed at ANY quick-lube place is not. When I was a kid I used to work for a couple of these type places, and believe me you don't want some 16-17 year old knuckle-head wrenching on your EVO even if is is only an oil change. Trust me.

I agree. Save your money and sanity by doing your own oil change.
