Again, for actual information on this deal and these diffs, look for posts from myself and Robi.

For information on what diff is where, look for my post at number 211 in this thread.

To install the front, it is an easy slip in to the transfer case, same as the Quaife. But to install the center diff, you need to R&I the transmission (about $500) and then open up the tranny and install the center diff inside. Figure about $300 labor for that. You spend double for the KAAZ. For this you get two clutch type diffs making humping noises in parking lot turns. Reading this message board, I dont get the impression the average evo-m guy would put up with that much racket. I sell KAAZ too so I dont have any problem with getting anyone a KAAZ for a good price, it just adds up quick (~$3,000 installed) and you get the extra noise.

So is the KAAZ front and center diff clutch type or torsen + viscous ? Rear diff IS mechanical ?
I need to act quickly, I think I'll go in for a set of KAAZ but still anxious to hear Quaife news.
Thanks for quick reply.

THE KAAZ DOES NOT WORK IN A USDM EVO VIII. And if it did you would be spending 3K+machineing and installation

Maxxy,

You are a bit confused. We are only talking about USDM Evolution 8's which have a totally different transfer case than your car. The Quaife from Road Race Engineering is not for your car, and you are better off asking a european shop to see what they have available. Also, all KAAZ diffs for the Evo are clutch type and I am sure that you can get one for your Evo 6 in europe, but this is the wrong place to ask since none of us are in europe or even talking about parts that will fit your car.

OK, opened up robi's transfer case and the Quaife looks great. no signs of wear, it is all tight and pretty.

Time to pay up if you want it.

Be sure to give me both your real name and your alternate message board super identity. I wont know who sParKlenutZ_69 is necessarily so I'll need to be able to tie real names with your super hero evom names.

Maybe someone could close this thread and start a new thread so we dont have to post this payment and info link every day.

Woo hoo! My deposit is in.. let's put our money where our mouths are...

This is much cheaper than paying 10 grand to trade my car in for an 05.

I'm assuming Mike W. and John M. also drove Robi's car around with this diff. Can either one of you comment on the feel of the diff? Robi could you comment about what major rethinking needs to be redone on the suspension?

Wasn't there another car that tested a quaife besides Robi's?

The Quaife feels JUST like the stock dif under braking (with or without the antilocks cycling) under initial turn in and in higher speed (70+MPH) corners. I noticed diferences in 2nd gear high steering angle corners as the car comes on boost the front (as the quaife locks up) wants to go to the outside...but then the tires grab with the high steering angle (DON'T ADD MORE "have a little faith")and the car settles down as it pushes slightly for the curb...(not as bad as you first thought it would...This is under a Open dif suspension setup, we're changing my suspension setup and I will let John talk setup if he chooses to. Remember my car is using 275/35/18 RA1's and getting somewhere between 450 and 500 WHP with the Buschur stage 5 580 setup. Your milage may vary ;-). (My experiance is that HP brings out the faults in a setup more than hiding them though).

Deposit paid!!! This is one mod I am really looking forward to.

Questions for RRE:

Is it possible to come by the shop to have the diff installed instead of actually shipping it to me?

Also, what will you guys charge for the install??

Thanks again! Thanks to you, Robi.

(Pssst I am #5 on the list)
