Ok ... I realize there is a market for these Quaife units, and that there are always going to be those that held off, and those that just didn't know about this sort of thing after the fact.
I also was faced with a purchasing decision on this unit.
After weighing in on the facts that:
1.) All the '05s have a Helical LSD.
2.) The '04 RS was the first in the states to have helical LSD. I drew the idea that they might put in the Helical LSD in all the '05s.
3.) The '03 and '04 GSRs has a questionable open front diff. that Mitsu. would never redesign, even to eventually reduce the cost on warranty work.
It became a personal goal to save the 1295, and go in on this group buy from Road Race.
Now that I have the unit in hand, with a race warranty on the unit, and seeing the excellent build quality of the LSD, I would like to give a hearty thanks to Road Race and to Quaife! Thank YOU for getting this out for the '03, '04 USDM GSRs!
As for those that might have to wait because they didn't jump in, and probably had the means regardless (take this as a tongue-in-cheek) ...

Quaife has scheduled a second production run. I will know more early next week on quantities and dates.
For guys that wanted seals, we wont have them all here until Friday (April 1 :-P ) All the diffs have already shipped out, we are sending the seal kits out Priority as soon as we get them in our hands.
Install note:
When installing the passenger side axle, normally you would pop in the axle stubby into the transfer case first, and then snap the axle onto the stubby. For the Quaife, you will need to pop the axle stubby into the axle first, then pop the axle with the stubby into the transfer case. There is a little extra depth clearance in the Quaife that can keep you from getting enough snap on the axle.

Alright, I'm in the middle of installing my quaife right now and need an install tip.
What's the best way to chuck the front diff carrier down? I was able to crack the ring gear bolts loose by putting it on my vise. The gear teeth gave me enough grip to loosen the bolts. Now that I'm tightening, the gear teeth doesn't give me enough grip to tighten the bolts down since they're slanted in the wrong direction.
I know I can probably have a buddy come by and put some weight on the carrier. But I'm impatient and don't want to wait!
