I'm driving it right now, and it's almost as I'd the noise is coming off a spinning piece. I'm not sure how to describe it, but when I push the clutch in it stops, and when I let the clutch go it seems to start spinning again, kind of sounds like there's something loose

I know a guy that had a similar problem. Turned out that the spring attached in his clutch were loose and caused the rattle when he had his foot off it. When he had his foot on the clutch, it would stop. Any one ever see something like that?

Yeah i've noticed the noise isn't getting any quieter, nor is it getting any louder... So I'm just gana wait until I have to change it (after I stroke the car) and I'll see the reason for it. And if something happens before my plans, well I'll just go and put a better one in it. I just don't Wana spend my Saturday taking out the tranny and putting it back in, and having the possibility of not being anything lol. But thanks everyone, thanks for the help

i noticed that my ACT HDSS with street lite flywheel does the same thing. its quite annoying. once i push in the clutch pedal, place the car in neutral or press slightly on the gas it goes away but if i let off the gas i can hear the chatter.

I have the same setup... No issues under load. Bad decel rattle, very annoying cruising in the mountains of NC.

If it only happens with the clutch engaged it is probably the transmission. I had the noise start after I launched my car at the track and it worked for another 3 months until I went back to the track and then I finished it off (ended up being first gear stripping the teeth off). I chipped it the first launch the noise started and finished the job the next time I went to the track.

I thought it was the clutch too. Does the sound instantly go away after you disengage the clutch or does it sound like it takes a few seconds to go away? Does the sound happen in neutral with the clutch engaged?

The noise happens every time I have my foot off the clutch, in gear, in neutral, on down shifts... Every time my foot is off the clutch. It just started making a rattling noise on my way home now (after I encountered an sti) lol. I rode the car to its potential, and now it's making a rattling noise but only during down shifts. I heard from some ppl it might be the springs in the clutch that's doing that. Any ideas?
