Anyone installed a Buschur air filter kit with the bracket?

I can't for the life of me figure out where the bracket is supposed to go. I tried attaching it to the bottom of the MAF/filter and then to the bracket for the boost solenoid (think that's what it is ) but the holes are an inch apart and the bracket is too thick for the stock bolt to bite anyway. The bracket is way too thick, looks like it took 2 minutes to make, and I can't find anywhere to mount it. Please help .

Wow.. Mine doesnt have that bracket, however I think that bracket goes to the old airbox housing bracket or the intercooler pipe bracket bolt towards the front of the car.. Those are the only two bolts I can think of that are long enough from what your describing.. and the difference in distance is about right for the front bolt of the airbox bracket.

Its a new bracket set up that they made up - - i did not intsall one yet so i have no clue

If no one else responds - you can run no problem without the bracket (previous versions did not have one) and call Buschur in the am

Good luck

The stock bolt for the exact location does not fit (as you mentioned, it is too short) but one of the longer bolts you removed with the stock air box will fit those threads and is about 2 times as long. My bracket mounted about perfect using the bolt just above the boost solenoid like you mentioned. I had to bend the bracket a bit after getting it in place in order for it to mate up to the MAF pipe but it all fit well in the end, including the bracket.

Good luck and call BR if you have problems...they'll take care of you!

The end of the filter is hitting one of the brackets that originally held the airbox in place (near the fender wall) so the supplied bracket's hole is about an inch off from lining up, which is why I thought I had the wrong hole. I'm charging the Dremel up now and will attack it when I get home .

I've photographed the whole install, which I will send to Buschur, just in case they want to use it. I'll also post it here even though it's not exactly a difficult install (apart from trying to figure out where the bracket goes ).

Hey guys, it looks like it could be a pain in the *** but when I did mine several months ago I figured a few things out. I do remember having to go to napa and actually having to purchase a longer, for lack of proper terminology, "dow bolt" that actually extends from the buschur filter becaus the bracket is just a little too thick for the original dow and doesn't allow the nut enough thread to go back on. I also did have to dremel part of the original airbox gold or brass colored bracket down from what I remember, also before bending the BR bracket, try flipping it around, I felt really dumb when I tried this and it worked . My car is currently at the dealership awaiting it's ACT transplant but I will be up there on Friday working on it with my tech, I'll take a picture of what I described. Hope this shed some light on the subject and helped. Oh and the BR bracket really is a nice touch, keeps that filter as stable and solidly mounted as can be.

Late,
mitsuorder

OK, even with the Dremel it won't fit. This is how I have it mounted and the longest part of the bracket is bolted to the inner fender while the shortest part is going to the filter/MAF. As you can see, it just isn't long enough. Just want to make doubly sure I am bolting it to the right location.

Your biggest problem is you need to remove the factory airbox mounting bracket. Its no longer needed and will keep he airfilter from sitting right. There is no need to cut anything with a dremel.

Yeah, I need to because the air box mounting bracket is also a mounting point for some of the piping that goes from IC to intake, and I don't want to pull that.
