6 speed mr transmission... Problems to look for?

Hey everyone I'm currently on my cell and I searched the best I could but nothing came up on this question. Ive owned 3 evos in the past, sold them all and now have a another car. Well a trade offer has come to the table that I'm really considering, it's a 2006 MR with with the stock MR transmission. Now I've know I read a thread wore about issues but I can't seem to find it. When I go look at this car on Tuesday what should I look for with issues with the transmission while driving the car. I know to look for issues with it popping out of gears and grinding while shifting etc, but what else.

Thanks!

yeah whine is def the transfer case

I'm running 400hp now with my 6, I can say a slight 2nd gear grind is "normal" or at least very common.

No grind in a trans is normal

Just make sure it goes through the gears smooth, thats all you really can do. If it grinds or doesnt go into gear smooth, theres a problem

alright thanks guys, ill make sure to check that when i i test drive the car. Got a lot of plans for this car. A lot of parts used on the car im not to happy with so i will be changing a lot. Unfortunately its doesnt come with the MR BBS Wheels

If the transmission is in good shape, ill be reselling it soon if i purchase this car. I will also be in the market to do a 5 speed swap. My power goals will be around 800 hp dedicated street monster. I cant wait til the jobs done. When i get the car i will definitely post some pictures up!

My MR trans is stiff when cold. Also takes a bit for the syncro so I don't pound it into gear. As everyone said make sure it shifts smooth. Also find out what kind of fluid was used and how often it was changed.

Found out the transmission fluid was changed 6 months ago. So all should be good when i go and test drive the car. I wont be able to check to see how it shifts cold since were meeting halfway. But hopefully i will be driving the evo back home

Anything else i should look out for on a MR model, as ive owned only 1 SE and 2 GSRs.
