The pi cut is not %100 accurately done, but still shows you the shape of the volute. The cuts are within .25" of eachother. My big machines had a hard time clamping on such a compact figure. Fwiw.

Awesome!

Are the units pictured above a 10.5 & 11.5/

if so, can you label each easier identification?

I wish i had a 9.8 to send you cut too, just for reference.

the top volute looks larger on the 11.5 but the bottom appears to be a similar size on both housings

Fyi the 11.5 cut like butter with a 16 tpi band saw .. the mhi.... A litle longer to cut.

The 11.5 also has a non uniform volute shape easily seen on the smaller side of the top volute.(in the bottom picture) .

That's some nice ****, Ratster! Your cross sectional cuts very clearly depict the difference in casting quality between the factory piece and the aftermarket one. Great job. Thank you!

Ratsbud,

Do you think the 11.5 housing "cuts like butter" because it is cast from a softer, lower quality material?

Looks like the biggest difference is that the WG flapper is substantially larger than the the 10.5 housing. Thanks for the pics!

I realize that this is OT, but does anyone have a used 9.8cm housing gathering dust in their garage, that they no longer need and would be willing to part with for a worthy cause? I'd like to have FP cut me a 9.8 to put on my Red turbo, but they no longer have any 9.8 housings in stock.

I feel the 11.5 did cut easier.. I believe it may be due to material comp. But I have segments for mrfred to look into. Sry mrfred, I have not mailed them yet . Today or tomorrow ..
