Which timing belt to choose?

I'm wondering what everyone out their has used for timing belts on their build.

Specifically high hp built motors.

I got my 8 timing belt in the garage with about 15k miles on it, it still looks great so I'm kinda thinking of re using it at least for another 40k miles or less.

Otherwise I've looked at the evo 9 belt which is supposedly stronger cause it has kevlar in it or the gates racing belt.

i dont have a high hp built motor but i decided to mess up your poll anyway. went with the gates belt. supposedly stronger and more resilient to cracking/wear bc of the kevlar. might never know bc i will replace it in another 60k, but hey thats what I got now.

go hks if you want that hella jdm tyteness and clear cam gear covers! (haha a joke)

there have been reports of the gates belts shrinking just a little and messing up the oil pump. Everyone i know runs OEM belts. i currently have the gates belt on my car with no problems but will be switching back in a couple thousand miles when i change all the pulleys and what not. If you are in CO talk to Lucas at Carz performance and he can fill you in on some of the info. he runs OEM belts on both his evos

I'm using the gates. No problems. I have @25K miles on it. My OEM 8 belt looked fine at 80K miles on it. I'm sure it had a good 40K left. Most of the tbelt jobs I've done look good to around 100K and that's with the OE belt.

My buddy totaled his evo 9 right before his 60k maintenance was due. So he sold me his brand new Gates timing, balance shaft belts and water pump he had bought for his car all for $100 cause his a generous friend lol needless to say thats what ill be putting in, in two weeks.
