Exclamation BR 2.5" downpipe and muffler delete performance??

I was wondering If anybody out there (or if Buschur Racing) have dyno comparisons of your 2.5" downpipe/muffle delete vs a 3" turboback exhaust system for compairison.
I would prefer a system with similar mods (cams, boost controller, IC upgrade.. etc.) to see how well the 2.5" handles modifications.

Before anybody decides to torch this topic, I have searched for it, and so far I have only seen theories from either BR, or others.

If you have the 2.5" downpipe/muff del (heh heh.. i said muff .. n e ways... ) I would appreciate your comments on how it performs (spool up increase/decrese, sound, top end, bottom end, throttle response, etc)

Thanks and I await your repsonses.

PS- I pretty much know about the sound, but just want to confirm from somebody other then BR how it sounds.. (no offense BR, but I would like a second opnion.. )

I would be very interested in seeing this comparison as David Buschur really seemed to indicate that the downpipe, stock cat and muffler delete pipe was a very good option AND quieter than just his catback. If anyone, in EVO-NY has this exhaust set-up, please let me go for a ride at the next meet!

I have a Buschur Muffler Delete Pipe. I gained some HP but lost about 1-1.5psi boost. More HP with less stress on the engine Oh wait, I just installed a MBC

I have BR Axle Back and like it. I don't think it's loud although the Attleboro Police officer thought it was loud enough to give me an "altered exhaust" ticket on top of 45 in a 30, heh. Oh well, fighting that in court later this month.

As for perf, I have MBC, but didn't seem to lose boost after installing it (without dialing in more boost to compensate). I had thought I would need to, but my boost seemed to stay the same. Top-end was noticeablely better. Actually, there seemed to be power gains everywhere and even quicker spool. No dyno or drag strip proof, but my GTECH times did improve significantly. Even moreso now that I have SAFCII hooked up.

My next plan is for the 2.5 inch dp. I prob don't want a full 3" turboback, since the AB already got me in trouble. I'm also looking for feedback from someone with the 2.5 inch DP and ab, esp someone who added the dp later. For example, is it worth it? I would think that it would "only" add 5 more hp or so? If the AB is worth 10, I can def feel that SOTP. I def don't want much more sound, but I would think it would help with spool?

Thoughts?

TIA,

We have not dyno'd them to compare it. I will have a really good idea after this coming weekend. We are putting the car back to stock to do some flash tuning on the computer to offer it with our upgrades.

My guess is the 2.5" downpipe with a muffler delete pipe will make more power than just a 3" catback. You can throw an offroad pipe in on that 2.5" system too and pick up even more HP.

If you have a decibel meter handy, maybe you can take a reading? Is there a rule of thumb in terms of local noise ordinances (i.e. X amount of decibels) and does anyone have any idea if this combo (Buschur Downpipe and Muffler Delete Pipe) is going to be pretty police friendly? I don't care too much about it being noisy for myself (in fact I see it as a plus), but hate to be hassled by the cops any more than now (red evo, nuff said).

I want to keep my stock cat for emissions reasons. In california, they are very strict about even replacing the stock cat.

Now, the question I have is, is there any 3" high flow car that will pass california emissions?
