Question Drivetrain Fluids

I just got my Evo IX MR a few months ago and I'm about to hit the 60k mark I'm looking to change all the drivetrain fluids so I'm looking at lancershop.com (unless you guys can recommend a better place to buy the fluids from) to buy everything I need. ALLDATA says:

Differential: Center dif - Diamond ATF SP II
Rear: Mitsubishi LSD Oil

Transmission: Diaqueen multi-gear or Diaqueen super multi-gear oil GL4 75W-85

Transfer case: Mitsubishi LSD Oil

Now what I'm confused by is that lancershop says NOT to use the Diaqueen gear oil in the tranny...is this just a suggestion or are you really not supposed to? And is their recommendation of BG Synchro any good? And if I have an MR so does that mean I have to get the Evolution MR 8/9 Diaqueen Super multi-gear oil or is the regular Evolution 8/9 Diaqueen multi-gear oil fine too (over $40 difference)?

And I don't see anything on their site for the center diff...what fluid am i supposed to get for that? I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks!

You can get OEM from mitsubishiparts.net for fairly reasonable prices.

http://www.mitsubishiparts.net/catalog/?section=575

There are many threads on this subject, have you tried searching?

Lots of people run different fluids and have had different successes. Since you have a six speed, you may want to look into what Redline Oil has to offer.

Purchasing fluids from mitsubishiparts.net would be cheaper most likely. PM russellm and he will get you everything you need.

I had BG sincroshift in my MR and did not like it. I just did all my drivetrain fluids two days ago and went will all OEM fluids. I DO notice a difference between oem and sincroshift. Sometimes places only sell 6speed fluid, but 6speed fluid is comptible in 5speeds. However, 5speed fluid is not for 6speeds.

I suggest sticking with OEM fluids.

I'd strongly recommend staying with OEM diaqueen on the transfercase. And be careful with the 6speed, use exactly the right weight. If you want more info on what fluid to run this should explain it:

All amsoil for me too. Pay like 10 or 20 for the year and you get nice discounts on anything including other things. It's still pricey but I figured at least it's synthetic and from what I've read the Diagueen is not synthetic, obviously it's not bad stuff if it's from the factory and ran in tons of cars.

When you change the ATF in the front diff don't forget to bleed it good, I believe you can use ECUflash or use the key on and pedal at WOT method like me...If not will get all 3 ACD lights on

I personally use Synchromesh in my IX trans. As far as oem trans fluid goes my buddy just went to the local mitsu dealer and they refused to sell him the fluid. They told him he has to bring in his own metal container and they would fill it up for him. I dont know if that guy was just being a douche or what but just a heads up. Usually I always order from Mitsubishiparts.net since they are by far cheaper then the dealer but sometimes people need it last minute and cant wait. As for the diff and t-case I use the oem LSD gear oil.

Thanks for all the input guys. I really appreciate it. I decided to go with all OEM fluids and bought everything from mitsubishiparts.net. After shipping i paid 183.50 (yikes!) for the trans fluid, LSD oil, atf, and set of washers.

I use a blend of 1 x Redline MTL and 2 x Redline MT90 for the tranny. For the transfer case and rear diff i use OEM Diaqueen. I've been running this combo for years without any issues.

I am about to buy some fluids, I have seen some people saying to use the 90PA, but why does Motul's site configurator recommend the Gear Comp 75W-140 in these? (see bottom notes): http://awesomescreenshot.com/038vegt07

Anyone know what the difference is between the Gear Comp and 90PA? Is 90PA better for clutch-type?
