Don't quote me on this but as I recall when I did mine in the talon they were just above the deck height of the head. Maybe a 32 of an inch off the head

Leave 25% of wire thickness above deck. 18 gauge wire is .040

Yea I haven't heard anything back from Buschur. I'm getting an sr20 head oringed too so I need to check on that one also. Is the amount to have them stick out vehicle specific or is it a common number for aluminum heads

It's not nessesarily vehicle specific, more of a rule of thumb. I'm sure everyone has there own spec to go by but what I posted about is what I have always heard..

if they dont know how far the rings should be above the surface of the head then they have no business working on your head,,,, i am not sure if there is any shop that will give you that data as i would concider this propietary.

Yea they want to make sure since some people have a different preference for what they want. The shop here does all the machine work for boost logic in Austin

I have been thinking about this for a while now and wouldn't it depend on what kind of oring material they used? I mean common since would say that if its x amount thick then half that distance into the head and the rest used to seal on the block. And make sure they use copper oring material the steel stuff doesn't work as good

Buschur uses steel which is who I got the rings from. Ive been told to that copper is what I should use, but since Buschur hasn't had any problems with them I don't see why I should.

DONT O RING YOUR HEAD.....there is no need. L19 head studs, OEM gasket....done. Marco from Magnus has ran HUGE boost with the tool steel studs and just a gasket. Plus (as was mentioned) if they don't know how much, you're asking for trouble.
