87mm block o-ring questions

I'm after some guidance on o-ringing my 87mm block for use with a factory 4g63 head gasket over-cut for the 87mm bore.

Not too sure what to do since there isn't much fat between the bores.

Do I do put individual rings around each bore or use a figure 8 pattern?

How far in from the cylinder wall do I get the grooves machined if individual rings are used?

Which part of the gasket are the rings meant to make contact with?

Please only respond if you have experience in doing this!

Cheers
Kelvin

there is room to go individual, i didnt do mine so i dont have specifics but i can try and measure if you need something specific. after the wire was installed, they ground it, the top edge of the wire is flattened to limit protrusion. here is a pic, 87mm bore.

the tips of my calipers are having a hard time catching the wire, but its as close as i can get without better measuring tools.

i.d. of ring 3.527"
o.d. of ring 3.610"
wire width .040-.043"
wire protrusion .003"

Thanks for that! Really appreciate it!

Just waiting for my torque plate to arrive so I can get the machining done and needed to know what specs I should be using for the o-rings.

Not really much local help in these parts when it comes to that sort of thing.

Who did the work for you?

0.003 protrusion seems fairly small although that looks like stainless wire so it won't compress as much as copper.

i just used my caliper to measure it, not a depth mic so it could be off a .0005"-.001".
