cityhugo, it really helps if you have a obd2 reader. That is how I discovered the heating element in the bastard was the problem, I had my reader basically hardwired for like 4 days

yep it was p0138.. thats why i replied... I actually asked about it here, about 3 weeks ago. Took me almost a week to figure out what exactly was wrong with the sensor. I would have my obd2 reader in the car with me, and while the car was running for the first 30 minutes or so, I would have the code, and I'd keep clearing it, just hoping I'd get something. Then about 30 minutes later, no code, I thought it was because the o2 sensor itself finally hit operating temp. After playing with it for a while, the heating element was what i diagnosed. Then the search for a cheap sensor started and that was no easy task lol.
Anyway I'm almost sure he is in the same situation, because mine failed when i was messing around in the snow, I took the sensor off and water dripped out of the damn thing, and he is running the same exhaust as I am.
a 60 dollar lesson learned on my part.. but it was fun learning the lesson

Well, Cityhugo I can't argue with Jeff's experience. Erase the code, and if it comes back really soon, just PM Jeff he can tell you where to get the cheaper o2 sensor, instead of $300 at the dealer.

everytime i cleaqr a code, it will be fine on the first start, but when i trun the engine off and on the second time, the code will come up again, but like after a few days, it check engine light will go off, but like a few days later, it will come back on again, i first was thinking because of the temp change recently, but now i am not too sure, i will take the o2 sensor out tommorow to see if it has any water in it, but what i don't understand is if water damage the sensor, how does it still give me a high voltage code?

it gives you the code because the resistor is done for. Also the car starts without a light after you clear the code because the code is first a pending code, then if the code persists the car will trigure a light next time you start it. so every tim you clear the code, you bought yourself one start without the light turning on but that doesn't mean the code is gone. When you clear the code next, see if there is a code pending immediatly afterwards.
