NOT normal engine noise (diagnosed, spun balance shaft bearing)

Information first... Head was taken apart and reassembled when the motor was built 2000 miles ago. Cams and journals were very mildly scored from spun bearings on the original bottom end, nothing to the point where I was advised against reusing by the shop doing the work.

HKS 272 I/E
ITM revised lifters
Rotella T6 5w-40

You're listening to the mid-pitched vibrate-y sound. It's fairly loud, like "driving down the road you can tell something's not right in the engine bay" loud. Motor is warm, oil level is good. Sound has so far not been produced on a cold motor. I have not pulled the valve cover yet to see if anything is out of place, not yet drained the oil to see if it's glittery.

Conclusion: Front balance shaft (oil pump driven) started to spin a bearing, then kicked it down into the oil pan. Engine did NOT lose oil pressure when this happened, so it was determined a blockage in the oil passage was to blame. Block was replaced.

IMHO doesn't sound like head noise at all - the frequency is too high.

Timing belt then? I can check tension pretty easily... I had some belt noise last week as it got cold, went away though.

Well, it's not rod knock, at least not like any I've heard. It's not a solid tone like a spinning bearing...

From timing side, me and a buddy narrowed it down to either water pump or timing tensioner before going out tonight, came home, got bored, browsed youtube some more...

And there we go. I'll confirm tomorrow, tear that side down, replace, and be on my way. Thanks everyone who contributed to helping me despite my laziness to not figure **** out myself.

Just out of curiosity did you change the valve springs when you did the hks cams?

I did not, sir. The lift is mild enough that stock springs are fine, or so I've been told by people I know whose opinions I value highly (Kracka, Scheides).

Well, did the tensioner, didn't fix it. The belt was pretty loose too, so I figured I'd hit the nail on the head.

Nope. Chuck Testa.

Balance shaft must be rattling around in there.
