Best EBC that doesnt hook up to the ECU?

im looking for a EBC. right now im running MBC by buschur.
I heard grimsport is good but that requires ECU tuning (which i would like to avoid if possible since non ecu would be much easier for me to adjust) I dont see the advantage of going ECU EBC anyways.

Does anybody recommend a EBC for GT35R Application? (32psi)

turbosmart eboost2 (not street) is supposed to be about the best, but i havent used one as i prefer manual boost controllers.

greddy profec type s is closed loop and very easy to use. It has Hi/Low boost settings as well as gain. I run this on my car now and ran it on the old TT 240Z.

ECU EBC will allow for programmed boost taper, but most standalone units do not.

The best are the AMS-1000 and the avcr. Both can do gear and rpm based boost control. The ams1000 can also do time based boost control.

The eboost doesnt do time based boost control. It is also 600 retail just like an avcr. NLR offer a less expensive option as well called the ams 500. Not sure if that does gear based boost control. The only disadvantage to the avcr is that its sensor only does fuzzy logic up to 2 bar of boost. But if you do duty cycle based boost it will do more. I hooked mine to a 4bar sensor and the readings are wrong but you can make it do fuzzy logic higher but the "boost" you set on the avcr is not real boost it is a trick. Since I am using duty cycle only I am going to reinstall the original map sensor and use it for low boost fuzzy logic and on high boost just use the duty cycle.

as a side note the ams 500 and 1000 are both able to be activated by external switches and are able to control ramp rate especially nice for fwd drag cars. They are state of the art and ams500 is $400 new.

ive had experience w/ greddy, and owned avcr, and dtec in terms of ebc.

dtec trumps both. easily the best user-friendly ebc.

Best or Easy?

Easy and works very well is an AEM tru boost. The turbosmart is more complicated than it needs to be. The AEM gets it done everytime with a minimum of Fing around.

Best is the AVC-R still for being able to ramp duty cycle vs rpm and boost by gear if you ever really needed that.

Easiest does not equal best in most cases. AVCR gets a bad wrap because it isnt as simple as a profec b or evc ez but it works.

I am currently using the AEM TruBoost and I like it. I like the fact that i can change boost setting really easily while I'm driving to compensate for temperature changes or just when i need to save gas with it running on the OFF mode so it just runs off wastegate pressure.
