Im not sure of any head work either really, Im pretty sure the head can pop right on. I believe that was what Buschur told me too because Id asked him that question about the compatibility.

My redline will be around 8500. The motor can go to 9k, especially with the longer long rod lol. 159mm I believe.

Most say the standard rod 2.4 can handle rev's to 8k safely with no issue. I think the general consensus was 7500-7800 was the max you'd want it to rev.

The LR config should be handle 9K rev's. Truth be told I can't see the need for it. My limit is 8500 and I rarely need it.

If you do the 1.012 CH piston with 159mm rods it should be possible to rev a bit higher than 9k.

I'm not to concerned about it revving all the way to 10k or anything like that. But I think 8500 would be everything you would need.

I thought oil squirters are not needed if you're running forged piston, since forged piston are made to handle the heat and don't have the Oil passages like stock pistons that allow the oil to properly cool the piston.

This is what I heard from a few people that have built several high hp motors. Hopefully someone very knowledgeable chimes in.

Thats why they say for road racing bc of the G forces you pull taking corners the oil moves around so much. I would also get the AMS or Buschur modded oil pan. Im doing this same build to my car now.

They make some good point on that supra forum, but from the sound of it, its still a catch 22. Forged pistons don't have the passages and are designed to handle the temps, sounds like a great idea but I guess its better to have an engine builder tell us what they would recommend and why. Just my opinion though....

Anyone else have any tips or concerns that they ran into while performing this build? Anything I would need to look out for? Thanks guy

Definitely a good idea, I have seen a few threads about their build that I will check out. I'm just not trying to take up to much of their time since I'm still in the pre-planning stages, but I do admit that they would be a good source of information.

So something new just caught my attention. What parts are actually reused from the 4G64 block for the long rod build? Is it just the block?? Or is the crank reused as well? Just kind of curious

Its the block and crank, which is 100mm.
