CEL and no code
CEL and no code
Hey guys,
Trying to figure this one out.
Friend was driving not fast but swinging rpms is how he described it. Had a cop, coil failed and reinstalled stock system. This is what he did when reverting back to the cop system.
He cleaned the old firing ends of the coil and sprayed some electrical protectant(guessing wd-40/crc type) on the same ends and reinstalled the cop system.
Slight sputter, cel came on.
He came by me to scan using Scantech and it picked up a CEL but when we went to retrieve the code, there was none to retrieve.
Car works fine after it happened and after the cel was cleared.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I was thinking, if your friend was working on electrical and being a good boy, he would have had the battery disconnected and that would have cleared the code. Dunno, I wasn't there.
