Tuning issue?....or?

Without getting into the vast history of my car throughout the last year here is my problem in a nutshell.....

GT35r, PTE Intercooler, Hardpipes, HKS SSQV, TIAL44mm, Stock ECU, 264's, PTE780's, Walbro.......

I was given my car car back from Buschur after a head-rebuild and stock ECU tune. The car idled awful upon startup, knocked something awful, would stall out, etc. Once the car warmed up it would jump in rpms to about 2k and once it came back down to idle it would clear up and idle normally. I took it back and David ended up spending an entire day working on my ecu. He told me it came in with a rom never intended for my car and that he loaded the most updated ROM and adjusted accordingly. He said if I was not happy with it, that he could do nothing more. I picked it up and it was much better but still was rather lopy upon idle and once it warmed up it would hop up to 2k and the idle would even out.

It has been doing this ever since but has degressed and on complete cold startups and will often stall out. I am having issues with it bogging down and almost stalling at stops now. My engine bay and the car most of the time smells heavily of fuel. Note: I cannot drive the car until it is fully warmed up.

My CELS pop up and disappear soon after. I am not sure whether that has something to do with the ROM but I finally caught one of the CELS and it was a system too rich code.

The only thing I have found is that the honeycomb in the MAF was trashed so I removed that for the time being. It helped with the initial startup but I am stilll experiencing difficulty.

I usually get a system to lean code which is caused by the combination of bigger injectors and the cams... It could be the same thing but I am not positive.

That code is cause by fuel trims maxing out lean. Either from a bad vac leak or more commonly, poorly scaled and tuned injectors.

^^^^ I know I was thinking it could be doing the same thing as the lean code but rich... Correct? maybe that's why the cars idle is messed up is because of the fuel just being dumped in.
