Boost Cut? Spark Blowout? Fuel Cut? Bad Coils?

So I just rebuilt my head & got a tune while using the same plugs. I barely made anymore power than I had before which I thought was weird but main thing is whats happening now.

I launched the car (tuned e85 map) and could tell I fouled some plugs as it was running like if there was fuel cut under normal driving with it sputtering right after this happened. It went away but my knock light would flash any time I went in to boost so I went and got BR7ES plugs and changed out my old BPR8ES plugs. I gapped them to .22.

Drove my car on my e85 map right after and on WOT the car would act normal then feel like I lose power then it kicks back in again. So I figured maybe it was the plugs and when I took them out after a week of driving on them the head side (around the thread of the plug) was black.

Dropped in new BPR8ES plugs and gapped to .22 again. Still... same thing no knock light but loss in power.

Anyone know what it may be? 03 evo, 90k miles, orig coils, new coilpacks, orig wires.

Car is tuned at 28psi (peak) on e85. This happened on the way UP the RPM range. I'd say around 4000-5500rpm

gap tighter, and sounds like the tune could be better since you say you didn't gain power from before? sounds like its running rich also.. you should invest in some hardware to log your car so you get a better understanding what is really going on if you don't have stuff now to do so.

ill try going to .20 gap and see if that works.

im pretty sure my tune before new plugs I was gapped at .22-.23

and weird I didnt really gain.

i swapped out:
aem cam gears for stock cam gears
tomei 260 pro cams with 11.5" lift for Reese Tuning 276KK cams with 11.3" lift
stock intercooler for 3.5" ets intercooler
stock valves for supertech valves
stock lifters for gsc no tick lifters

and did some head work/porting

and i didnt see a gain between the graphs at all except I had a little bit more mid range but I don't think I gained any hp or tq

This, you need more info besides just the plugs, but it does sound rich.

Sounds rich, post a pic of the old plug, get the timing line on the ground electrode (gold-ish line) if you can.

.22 is too wide for higher cylinder pressures normally associated with E85 tunes, .20 is where I've been running mine.
