o...... well if there was heavy wind then ya no wonder. thats not abnormal to experience going 100mph into heavy wind. its just pushing its way past the window seal and making a loud whistle hissing noise. nothing to worry about

as far as fluids go, i use OEM in tcase and rear and wouldn't recommend any diff. but that's me.

fwiw i think i will go back to svg gear for the t-case, but i think the rear differential simply just prefers the straight 90 dino oil.. something to do with actually having less additives, which the diff doesnt make as much use of

I am not saying you are wrong, but I have seen way too many evos running SVG in the rear diff and tcase with great results, additives in the oil is a known good thing to have in the system, it greatlly helps with keeping stuff clean and shear stability where dyno oils don't have this capacity

You know where I am coming from this has been shown through test time over and over again here in the forums.

Thanks, that really puts my mind at ease - that sound was so damn alarming

I absolutely do. I was having great results in the t-case, though the rear diff's was getting a little gray and goopy. There may be something about straight 90 dino that the Cusco simply prefers; I spoke to someone at Cusco and they also recommended regular dino. In either case, I'll be going back to svg gear for the t-case and just giving the OEM diaqueen a shot in the rear. I'll see how the fluid ends up after the same x miles.

I think the noise issue is more or less diagnosed - thanks guys!
