Pull the boot back on the slave and be sure the piston isn't stuck and lodged against the cylinder itself.

I can move the fork and the slave piston. I moved the slave out of the way took a crowbar and tried to snap it back. Just won't clip in. When it happened I felt a pop ah the the bottom of te pedal.

Glad you figured it out. Sometimes its the flared fitting from the slave that cracks.

D***! Glad you figured it out, had the same issue with my old STi when we did the new clutch. Pushed in the pedal and it popped and stuck on the ground. We eventually traced it back to needing the slave cylinder bled. The fork looked exactly like the picture you took, glad you fixed the issue though!
