Hm. Do you know what they're gapped at by chance? The HDs aren't really a loud piston.

So you have gunk in the gas tank--that you are aware of--any idea how that happened?

On the fix it side---if you are due an oil change---gather up your stuff and drop about 1/2 a qrt of trans fluid in the oil and let the car idle ONLY-- let that circulate for a while--that will clean all the grime out of the lifters etc--you will hear it if it works, the noise will stop in 10-15min. If it works great--its an old school fix--but worth it if it works-- drain, change the filter and refill-- do not drive the car with trans fluid in the oil---

No Im sorry I have no idea what the gap is and the gunk in the gas tank I'm just assuming because I'm getting a little frustrated but wouldn't be surprised because I ran 93 for 16k straight miles then switched to e85 but the gunk has to come from somewhere i mean it gets caught up in the lifters but that still leaves the rest of the fuel system including the gas tank. Either way I will find out this week and report back with info and hopefully have the problem fixed. Thanks for all the help guys I really appreciate it

So I finally found out what the noise was it was pistons hitting the bottom of the head which resulted in 8 bent exhaust valves due to the head gasket not being thick enough even after I stressed the fact that I wanted a thicker head gasket when my motor was built at 3sx performance in concord north Carolina and they used a stock oem headgasket and charged me for a cometic
