Very torn on which turbo?????
Very torn on which turbo?????
Ok,heres my dilemna....Im putting back money for future upgrades..Looks to be around august sept time frame..Ive always wanted the Fp Green....But,after talking to two separate tuners..they dont recommend that i get the HTA Green due to the fact that i daily run e85 on stock block...They say ill be quicker to ventilate the block due to the downlow tq..
Next thought is the Fp red...It would be my second choice..Great topend, and can detune tq to be a bit safer..But,if the Black is only spooling a few hundred rpms slower..Should i skip the red????Anyone have a dyno layover of all three on E85???thanks..Justin

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...omparison.html and theres a nice green red black chart in there too.
I am leaning towards the green and just keeping the low end torque tamed a little, I just have a feeling a green is gonna be much more fun to street than a black? Maybe until u get on the highway..... My tuner tuned a green w/e85 on a car with supporting mods to 470 hp and like low 400's tq. That sounds like more of a fun street car then a black would be with the later spool..... I'm not gonna be able to safely stretch a blacks power band out on e85 with a stock block IMO? I understand the power comes on later and is easier on rods, but by the time it spools the green is gonna be long gone.
Go drive a car that has a black on it and then talk about how laggy it is. They all use the same housing and can add the anti surge ports etc etc. People been making huge power on stock block blacks and are still running powerful and running well to date.

There's no doubt Forced Performance has done an excellent job on the black with making a larger compressor wheel and slightly larger turbine spool well and be sweet on top, but still hard to be more instantaneous power on the street. I like feeling a big hit. Honestly the only reason I am considering a green is because one of my tuners customers is wanting to sell it to go bigger, so I might be able to get a decent deal on it.
