TRE is the best.

Jon and Eric are the only two working there at TRE. They did absolutely GREAT work on my Stage 2 Transmission. HE IS HARD TO GET A HOLD OF.
But I think he is the best at what he does. Discuss.

I went there personally to meet him and drop off my transmission. He spent two hours talking to me about my transmission while he and Eric disassembled it. He took the time to show me the process that he runs each gear through. If you are within four hours drive, it is DEFINITELY worth driving over there. I did and I am glad.

He delivered on his promise. And did it on a deadline. He even rebuilt and upgraded my transfer case. Great price for the package too!

Jon is sometimes hard to reach by phone, although he usually returns e-mails more quickly than the OP mentioned. Moving a full shop of transmission rebuilding machines, inventory and equipment is an obvious explanation.

Until Jon quits building transmissions, he's got all of my business and anyone else that asks me. His workmanship and knowledge is WAY above the other options.

If you want excellent, get Jon to do it. If you want fast, pick another option.

FWIW, his emails initially went to my spam for some reason.

Emailed Jon back in jan, he responded back saying :
injured my shoulder and tore an AC ligament.

I won’t be building anything till I recover

I will be waiting until hes ready to go again.
This is most likely why emails have not been responded to

I spoke to Jon this afternoon - he's definately busy, and definately willing to give me all the info I wanted. Sounds like I would be 2nd in line for a new 5-speed. His 4.111 FD's show up in a few weeks. Was a good conversation and he seems like a very knowledgeable, stand-up guy.

Joke must be on me because 4 months later and still no word from TRE. Their answering system has changed it appears but that's about it.

Called up Shep and got to talk to Gary and Trevor who were both helpful and answered my questions. My Shep Ult Ratio shows up soon.

Joke was on me too

Im now awaiting my shep proofed trans and tc as I couldnt get a response from Jon at TRE. Extremely happy I choose Shep, Trevor is always there to help out and answered any questions I had.... The end of TRE for me... completely lost my business and my friends, never will I consider TRE as a reputable trans shop again.... Shep is the best way to go.
