ARP includes grease with their flywheel bolts, not loctite, specifically because they seize into the crank so often. Don't use loctite. Just make sure you torque to 98 Ft/Lbs.

I've paid for my clutch job the last three times and that's getting old! I'm mechanically inclined and have done plenty of clutch jobs...just not on an EVO. Next time I'm doing it.

I use loctite and know plenty of people that do, just heat them up a tad when u take them out. They were in there, but I didnt have any trouble. I used new oem bolts though. You can do it however u like, but those aren't something you ever want coming loose..... I used red loctite and torqued to 95 ft lbs

Is loctite used from the factory?

No. From the factory the bolts are dry. Using loctite is an almost surefire way to give yourself problems next time you try to remove the bolts.

Congrats, I recently got the car, I'm from the VW world so it's alittle different.

A few things that helped is make sure you have a good jack and some jackstands that go pretty high.

I'm replacing everything.
The transmission is getting rebuilt.
Shifter bushings are going in.
There's a pia mount in the back of the tranny. I'm upgrading it.
I'm replacing the whole clutch fork assembly too.
Clutch fork
Clutch fork boot
Clutch fork sleeves
Felt washers
Clutch fork springs
Clutch fork pin

I'd say that's just about everything that is important to change.

Also I bought a mini pump for the tranny case fluid. Basically you fill from the drain hole as soon as it comes out of the fill hole you close it do two more pumps and quickly put the drain plug on.

That's the simplest method I've seen.

My transmission only grinded at wot but I figured I might as well get it rebuilt while it's out.

Got the transmission in, hardest part hands down was getting the transmission lined up.

Every feels way better andddd no more rattling on decel!

Only issue I have is that if the car is not moving and I try to row through the gears it is tough to go into fourth. But if im driving and go from 3rd to 4th no problems..
