Lightbulb Injector opinions

Hey guys, I'm looking to be getting an e85 tune very soon on my evo but I can't decide on what injectors I should be running. I'd like your opinions on the matter as it will help me make my decision.

My goal is around 600-650whp (yes I know I'm going to need more work to my car to get there), but I'm starting with the fuel system for now. Please let me know your opinions and pros and cons to each. It would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

With E85 you probably will not see a difference. That’s my .02 cents

I really like my FIC 2150's. You can't go wrong with FIC

Are you running a standalone? or stock ecu?

Ive heard that it is difficult scale/tune big injectors on stock ecu, but i see many people doing it without to much complaining.

What are your plans for fuel pump?
Are you going with a double pumper?

Other than that I hear nothing but good things about FIC.

Im trying to hit 500whp on my 2.3 with a dbb fp black on e85. This should be more than capable of hitting my goal. My fuel system is up in the air currently. due to my transmission eatting at least one syncro and possibly a gear. I would like to run just a 400lpm walbro and smallest injectors I can while maintaining 80 IDC.

Its hard to search due to the stroker motor and e85 with the FP black.
Hope I dont side track your thread......

I said ID because I know ID gives you the parameters for the injector battery offset and scalings whereas when I talked to Jens he couldnt give me any hard info he just stated deadtime "should be around 1msec at 12v". I found that to be annoying and will pay more for better support. ID also guarantees injectors to flow within a very small % and they are tested and flow rated all the way up to 100psi base pressure. I think they do more and it is worth the extra money. I also think the adaptors for the ID's are nicer quality.

FWIW, 500 WHP using E85 and a DBB Black should be no problem for your setup as long as you have the proper valvetrain and cams.

I made 466 WHP on a Mustang dyno (520 WHP Dynojet), using an ER built 2.0L, DBB Black, GSC S3's with Kiggly springs/retainers on 93 pump gas.

When I go back I'm hoping for 500 WHP on the Mustang dyno on 93

Yes I believe I do, Kelford 272's. This would be mustang numbers. I am not looking to push my motor to the edge, or rev to the moon. I like the idea of keeping the egt's down with e85. Its a second car but I want to drive it and not worry. 500 is just a number and we will see once tuning begins how much the car wants to do without pushing it all that hard.

Thanks for the reply. Ive read through your build and it turned my on to the bb FP Black.

As far as the fuel pump, I have a walbro 255 right now, and I'm planning on going double pumper when I need it (which I know I will).
Right now I'm still running the stock turbo and mostly stock setup. I'm slowly building my car right now as it is, and I'm only shooting for around 400whp until I get my turbo setup finished and some of the motor built. I'm looking in the long run to be doing a 2.3 build but that is some time down the road.

I've heard bad things about FIC's not being too good over the 1450's but I've always been leaning towards the ID's. But right now, I can get either of them for right about the same price so I figured the 2150's were better because they had a little more flow through them than the ID's. But if you're saying the ID's make it easier, then I might just go with those because I don't want it to be more of a pain for my tuner now or me when I finally get the stuff around to tune my own car.

For even money the IDs are a no brainer.

If you don't mind my asking: How much did you pay for your ID nozzles, Batty?

And this is why I'm asking! lol. Why is it a no brainer? That's what I can't seem to figure out. Just because of the ease of tuning and nothing else?

Did you read my previous post?

A: Better customer service.
B: Better fit and finish
C: Better Technical Support before and after sale.

If those things arent worth more money to you there is a problem. If it is free and you dont go for it you are clearly not smart enough to drive.

I dont have them. I am going to pick a set up soon since I am taking the 1200's from my EVO to install in my GVR4 and will be putting in some big guns to prepare for my built motor/35R setup. I hear they are $225 each retail. I would also recommend the adapter harnesses so you dont have to cut the harness and the spoolinup HighZ resistor bypass plug. Do it right the first time.
