Rear Diff Bushings

I'm looking to upgrade my rear diff bushings. From searching, I noticed that a lot complain about noise level. Who makes the best bushings that has a tolerable noise level.

Thanks

Energy susenpion but go with the black ones. Makes a little noise on decel but that's about all I've noticed. Nice price too. I have 1,000 miles on mine. Not sure how long until they are considered broken in.

It's pretty easy. Support the diff, removed the side supports, replace bushings. Re-install. Done.

^ not that easy. Unless you've done it before. Almost every bolt is hard to get and you need some ingenuity to reach them.

I have the black ES bushings....its loudness really depends on what you are able to tolerate. And it will be mostly on highway drives where it could bother you. If a blox front mount and a whiny walbro doesn't bother you then maybe you'll be okay. The other solution is the whiteline kit that only does the side supports. It gets rid of most of the clunk but usually doesn't make any noise.

Not a whole lot of pictures but he explains it pretty well.

Wasn't easy but not impossible. Took a few hours with a buddy and myself. Had a few "how the hell do i get that out" moments but it worked out.

You don't need a press. To get the bushings out just need a few screw drivers you don't care about, hammer, hacksaw and heavy 4-6 inch vice (2 pieces of small wood).

And I will probably regret posting this but this is what I'm talking about. Cut 2 slits into the outer metal casing and take the screw driver to the center section and punch it out. There rest will follow. My friend thought it was amusing watching me put so much effort into it.

I don't think many people have those works bushings. Its probably best to email works and ask them about the noise and how well it deals with the clunk.

I guess if you already have the carriers out and you're using a press it will take 10mins. Otherwise theres no way. Plan on 2 hrs at least from jacked up to back on the road.

Something to think about when putting it all together. The two carrier bolts are made of something like forged steel and the threads are aluminum. Make sure you thread them in correctly or those bolts are just going to eat that aluminum up.

Also, about the Works bushings. The reason I went with Energy Suspension was because I had friends that used them with minimal noise increase. You can take your chances with something stiffer but the end result may not be good.

Believe me, once you get them in and done with, you wont want to do it again if you don't like the increase in noise.

beatrush kit is like 4 bushing to replace the ones that hold the diff
not like the es kit which replace the diff mount units

As mentioned a few times in here. After installing bushings you may notice a decent enough whining noise at higher speeds. Mine gets pretty noisy 70-80.

I am hoping that breaking the bushings in a little will reduce it nicely. I have the ES kit so the other option is to take the metal washer out and put the rubber one that goes to the frame back in.

Yea...I was the one that wrote this: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...-bushings.html

The whiteline set only has the side carrier bushings like beatrush. I redid it again for the ES bushings full set. The first time took a loooonnng time to figure out how it was supposed to come apart. For the second time just the carrier part took 2 hrs. Its friggin impossible to reach some of the bolts on the side carriers. They're tucked right up against the gas tank. You can't use a gun on them.

Good news, they do! They will become inaudible until you cruise in that 70-80 range. In that range they will be about half as loud as when you first put them in. Something like this:
