The install is quite easy if youre used to using a box wrench. a little bit a a time on the back side of the diff. everything else is pretty straight forward. I found the rear swaybar bushing to be the most challenging.
driveshaft bushings probably didnt help much but I am kinda glad to have visited that area because the bushings are totally worn, maybe from the heat of the exhaust. the loops are rocks steady now so thats good enough for me
as for the diff whine, i'm going to revisit this. mines on/off with the gas pedal so i think its more with the angle of how things ended up being installed IMO

While I was on the STM site, I also saw something that interested me: shifter base bushings. Has anyone used these and if so, is it a noticeable difference? Right now I'm using the Works short shifter for my Evo MR.
No problem bud! Always happy to share info. And I had all mine installed by my local shop. I was having the t-case rebuilt by Shep and ordered all the bushings. He said the rear diff/mustache bar set were a bit difficult but the carrier bearing bushings were a piece of cake.
But to anwer your question on shifter base bushings....another great cheap mod that takes very little time and is easy. Shifter felt more precise when I did these. I already have te underhood bushings.

Btw one of the reasons I did the carrier bearing bushings in my car was because I had noticed a lot of slack in the drivetrain...like bad. All gone now.

i would do the underhood bushings over the shifter base. the base bushings just provided a sturdier shifter. but then again it doesnt hurt to do both.
driveline carrier bearings were easy to install, definitely recommend it.

was there any change in cabin noise after the rear diff bushings were installed?

As far as shifter bushings I might actually put in the stock shifter base bushings. Right now I have solid underhood bushings and polyurethane shifter base bushings, sometimes it engages pretty rough. I don't remember that happening with the underhood bushings only. I have to dig through my mess of stock bushings to find it though...

Installed rear diff bushings in my car today, as they were given to me after one of my buddies installed mustache bar, these were a really easy install, did one side at a time. Noticed I no longer get that dredded clank when staying in gear to long now! I have yet to drive them on the interstate to see if the drone changes, but the car is no louder than it was before, however I do have solid mounts and an exedy triple LOL.

I have a decent clunk on a shift so these energy suspension rear diff bushings will help I guess from reading this thread

After the full rear diff bushings and the rear diff mod I have a whine from 75-80 then it stops.

Seems normal

bringing this back. Right now I have the AMS mustache bar elim and that has solid diff bushings. I'm getting old and the noise is getting to me. I'm thinking of putting the bar in with new bushings in hopes that is helps. I also have a tre rear diff that is noisey so I'm sure that is making some of the noise also. Just wondering how loud these are compared to a solid rear diff mount.
