I'm finally on the path of getting my car all put back together and ready to get tuned, however like the title states, I have some questions on fuel... I'm going to be using the stock ECU converted over to speed density, and I plan on using the alt map mod in tephra, but I'm undecided on which 2 fuel types I want to tune on...

I have an aquamist kit installed and it works fine, but E85 just became available at one station thats about 10 miles from my house. I was planning on just having a 93 pump map and 93+meth map, but now I'm leaning towards the E85 as the second map for its reliability and power potential. Before I make a decision tho, I have some questions.

- does my tank need to be completely empty in order to fill up with e85 and switch maps? Or is there a certain amount that is allowed that wont affect the octane too much to make it unsafe.

-What is the shelf life of e85? I was planning on getting a big barrel and filling it to keep at home in the garage for when I want it. This is a weekend fun car so this fuel could potentially sit for a while.

-If I stay with the aquamist, whats the reliability of running high-ish boost and achieving 650ish awhp? (setup below)

If you have access to e85, read about it and run it.
Keep in mind when it comes to storing that ethanol is hygroscopic.

 

You don't need 2150s for 650whp.

 

On E85 you do, if you want to run High-z injectors, like the FIC 1100cc/2150cc, and ID 1000/2000 injectors.

460whp on e85 and fic 1100's = 75%dc.

 

Why you want High Z Injectors for e85?

 

I was going to go with the 2150's so i didnt have to upgrade later if I decided to go a different route

 

1680cc Hi-Zs are rated for 850whp on E85. 2150cc Hi-Zs are rated for upwards of 1000whp on E85. Too many people spend ~$700 buying them when they can easily get away with a 1680 Hi-Z or 1850 Low-Z.

 

Understandable. I just said that, as many people run them, but no one really needs that much injector.
