budget evo 4 5 6 radiator!
i posted it in another thread but some thought it should be on its own for more visibility so here it is.
in an effort to keep the upper radiator hose from getting torched by tubular manifolds, a lot of people go with an evo 4 5 6 style radiator. many are either too thick, or too expensive. a 97-02 mirage radiator is dimensionally the same with the core thickness and passenger upper mounting pin being the exception. the lower tank also gives more room for big turbos. about 1/2" over stock. its a single pass 5/8" core and gives up some cooling over stock. while i havent tested it yet, it should provide sufficient cooling for street cars. half radiators work great and they have about the same capacity.
koyo is generally a good brand and the part # is W0133-1819907 and many places have it for around $100 shipped. there are cheaper ones as low as $75.
here are pics.
stock radiator.
mirage radiator.
upper hose location.
passenger side upper strap location. (i will make new brackets and post instructions, very easy to do.

Yea, I'm wondering too. I have a Mirage with a 4g64 dohc swap and I actually sourced the evo 4-6 rad brackets so I could run a dual core evo 4-6 rad, because my car ran warmer than when it did with the stock motor. Is there something wrong with my car?

I have been running the KOYO Mirage radiator since March of 2013. My car is a daily driver with AC and I have not experienced cooling issues. I run the stock PS pusher fan and a 14" puller fan on the DS wired through the factory DS fan controller. Never see temperatures above 180F even in the middle of summer with AC on and sitting still. I have no experience with this radiator for racing applications. I had to make my own custom top brackets from aluminum using the inserts from the stock mount. On the bottom it fits the factory mounts, but I added ~0.200" spacers to slightly raise the radiator, which is not necessary. I can provide the part number for the hose I used if anyone is interested.

Welp, that's pretty impressive. I didn't think the puny Mirage Rad would work well with the 4g63.
