next thing im going to do is elim line line that goes into the T at the wate gate from the lower intercooler piper run it direct to the waste gate

then run vac line from BOV to intake mani
thoughts?
Yeah, the wastegate shouldn't even be on the same line as the BOV. Hook line 1 straight to the BOV.

Wastegate should either be hooked up to the stock boost solenoid or some type of boost controller (eg: manual boost controller or electronic). DO NOT leave it alone, otherwise, you will be over boosting since the wastegate will never open up.

You should have this under your hood. It'll help you with routing vacuum lines that are all over the car.

okay i think i know whats wrong here by the wiring diagram.. if this doesnt work then im going to switch out the scetchy coupler..ordered one already so if this doesnt work ill b wating for that to come to take the next step..

the 3 line as the one guy had listed is supposed to go to the solenoid valve then into the intake..
so ill just run bov to the intake mani.. and see if that fixes things.. if not wait till the new coupler comes for the UICP for the bottom part..

after that then im just tossing this thing cos idk whatelse to do..

ill post pics after new lines are ran..

I really don't know why people run these, especially VTA and still running the MAF. Granted, I had one on my car that was there when I bought it.

Even when I switched to SD there were some drivability problems, which instantly disappeared when I went to a TiAL Q.

everyone has their own opinions ya know, i happen to like the way it supposed to sound, theres really not any drivable problems i mean the sputter sound is annoying at low rmps, im less worried about the "sound" of it and more cerned that the BOV is opening properly there fore only way i know of is hearing what its supposed to sound like.. waiting on this cupler to get here to take the next step..

SSQV is the worst BOV you can put on an evo. It sounds like crap and makes your car run like crap.

Get a recirc'd dv and call it a day. You'll be best off getting a IX DV...

VTA and still on stock MAF will leave too much fuel in your cylinders everytime you shift. That means greater chance of washing down cyl walls.

bov stall

I have the HKS BOV on a 2003 EVO 8 and have ran it both ways.

1: VTA
2: Recirculated

Both ways I had it hooked up my car would run very rich on throttle release and it would hit 2-300 rpms and either stall or almost stall. The way that my recirc kit is setup, is I have it plugged directly into the intake opening (Meaning no tubing it literally sits in the intake housing from the stock recirc). I believed this to be the best way for the intake to have the air back. (Lol if that sounds crazy) No matter what I do with the HKS BOV it will still make my EVO limp

I placed the stock BOV back on and the car runs perfectly.

I hope this helps a little :/

With all of the issues that we are having with the HKS I don't believe that this is the proper BOV for "All" Evos.

I would like a BOV that will hold my boost properly and if the stock does that than I am happy.

Unfortunately the last 3 posts are 100% correct... As much as I liked my ssqv it just cant work w/out issues and this is recirc'd.
It worked super on my S14 but terrible with the evo8.
The MAF doesnt like at all...
If you insist on using it losen up the adjustment screw at the back of the bov as much as possible, this may help your surge issues.
Otherwise MR bov is the go if you keep the boost under 22-24psi.

Thumbs down

I hope you fixed the problem by now. If your mot tuned your going to have problems no matter what blow off valve you put there. Right now i am pushing 410whp and the sskv is causing a lot of problems for me. The ssqv is just not a good bov for evos. Its a waste of money!
