When I put the car together, I was running an AEM (older version). The "rally style antilag" provision in the ecu was never enabled right from the factory (AEM issue, not a tuner issue), as the range of timing values can't get far enough retarded for it to work properly. Actually...and this is really dangerous, but once you went to far negative, the system would jump you hugely advanced. I'm lucky my tuners noticed this bug before they actually tried to get the antilag going on the car.

Series 2 was supposed to have fixed the issue, but with how buggy the system was at first, I decided I wasn't going to spend the money to upgrade it. Ended up working a deal to get the Motec M800 in the car instead and my tuners are much much happier that I'm on that system now. Its so much more flexible and allows for some really cool stuff.

My car is used for hillclimb racing at very high altitude, there are a bunch of threads in the motorsports section if you'd like to check out details on the car. Just search for PPIHC...or you can check out my website www.racekern.com for less technical info, but more videos and pics.

If you have questions about anti lag contact the guys at Dent Sport Garage. They are very well educated on using/tuning anti lag systems for the EVO. I believe the like the vipec unit a lot.

Thanks for the info, ive followed a couple of your threads here. Nice stuff..

We use vipec on our turbo snowmobile, some other guys run motec and autronic. Vipec seems very capable and the interface is decent.

Theres 3 that come to mind with lower end price tags. Tough call.. halltech vipec autronic.. ill be choosing one here in the coming months
