Help with cylinder head removal (evo8)

I was wondering if anyone had a "how-to" on removing the head on an evo 8, Im trying to figure out if I need to buy a new head or not, about 4 months ago it started making this really loud knocking sound, I was thinking it skipped timing, and ive been reading about the balance shaft, and a couple other things, I dont have access to an engine hoist or anything, Im having to do this in the barracks parking lot :-/ so i have to leave the engine in the car, im thinking cause I dont have alot of time before i get out of the army and move to florida for school that my best option might be to have it towed to a dealership or a shop somewhere. Any opinions and help are greatly appreciated.!

You need to find out were the knocking is exactly coming from first, if the car is still running. It could be a lower end knock from the connecting rod bearing and that would require removing the block which honestly might not be the best thing to do if your leaving base pretty soon.

I narrowed it down to the timing belt side, when it finally quit on me after i got it to a place i could park for an extended period of time, i popped the hood and the turbo was glowing, it was building boost just driving normal, my guesses are timing belt slipped, balance shaft belt broke, belt valve or belt something in the valvetrain.
