Kinugawa Turbo on Evo 8

I've checked Kinugawa's website and they only list Turbos for Evo 9. Don't they fit Evo 8's?? Why are they only listed for Evo 9??

I do have an Evo 9 Turbo on my 8. I want to upgrade the turbo but don't want to spend too much like $2000ish. Do you guys think a 20g or a 25g turbo is a good choice for me??

Is there like an Evo 8 install kit for these??

That thread i linked, will soon have answers to this question. No one really runs these turbos. I'm just as curious as you, but I would choose the 25g turbo with a billet wheel and 11.5 hotside and you'll make some good power I would imagine

when I choose the 25g on kinugawa website, it won't let me select any options such as 11.5 or billet wheel
or am I blind??

I'm gonna say blind, just takes a few trips around their site to find. So just partially blind They're separate options

but i just realized the 11.5 wont work with the 25g I think....

The 9 is the only turbo with the compressor cover large enough to fit upgraded wheels of those sizes. You can put a nine turbo on eight so they are compatible, just don't use your evo eight turbo outlet pipe or waste gate actuator

thats not true. 8 turbos can accept any wheel that can fit in a 9. I have actually been quite confused why no venders do upgrades for 8 turbos. big hole in the market if you ask me. big wheels have been installed in much smaller covers than 8s for years

Jerry i think what he means is that you can't upgrade the evo 8 turbo's because the kits usually come with anti surge housings too.
I've only found one company on ebay that sells 20G anti surge evo 8 housings.
I actually bought a billet 20G wheel with anti surge housing to find it didn't work on my evo 5 turbo So i scored an evo 9 core housing off a friend and i'll put that together.

I agree that the Evo 8 turbo/compressor upgrade market is lacking, i tried convincing the company that made the 20G wheel i bought to make an evo 8 anti surge housing.
I still haven't had a chance to test it yet, work comes first.

Cheers, Mike

So a 20g compressor wheel will fit a Evo 9 compressor housing? ...I thought 20g compressor wheel required a 20g compressor wheel housing.
