Need a Clutch....

Hello, I am currently in the market for a new clutch kit. my 04 evo 8 is basicly stock as of now no idea the power probably about 15-20whp more then stock. I am Looking to upgrade my clutch since my clutch I have now is toast. My driving style...I like to drive a bit aggressively I daily drive my evo I take my car to the track once in a while lets say 2-3 times a year I have had the car for almost a year now and launched it multiple times thus the reason I need a clutch. I am Looking for the perfect clutch setup for my car lets say 380whp-380ft/lb goals full face disc. I have looked into ACT(had that in my talon), Competition(seems like they burn up easy with lauches?), Southbend, and a few other brands. Again I Daily Drive this car everyday, When I race it I race it hard(5500rpms launches banging gears @7400rpms((In 2nd and 3rd, 6500 in 1st)). I want something I can Street drive and also "track" the best bang for my buck please dont critise(sp?) my driving I understand that its not the best type of driving for saving clutches, Just want a decent clutch within my price range of $700-$800 NO TWIN DISC Thanks. The more Input the better thanks guys.

The OEM Clutch can take a lot guy but if you really want peace of mind i would use the ACT HD clutch kit with the street (Sprung) disc. Daily driving would b the same as stock with just a lil harder pedal pressure.

Im not sure what clutch is in it now the car came from north carolina with an invoice for an R&R clutch kit (Repair&Replace?) Im sure the stock exedy is not in there anymore Im just looking for something that can be DD and also take some weekend warrior abuse which I dont abuse every weekend its just a term. I have launched the car since ive owned it probably 12 times 6 times at the track and 6 on the street so lets say I launch it 1 time per month.

I really have nothing relevant to add, other than to say that your honesty should stand as an example to others. And I sincerely hope that you receive a good deal of applicable advice. Good luck.

FWIW, I have a HDSS on my car, but I never launch so my experience is essentially irrelevant. I don't hate it for non-aggressive driving, if that helps.

You mentioned comp, the new HD stg 2 is holding up pretty well in Lucas English's Evo.

I installed an ACT street clutch with HD plate and honestly I love it.
Price is much more than the CC which also seems good and from a price stand point may be what I use next.

Well I looked into the Competition Clutches Stage 2 - Street Series 2100 Clutch Kit and ive seen a few good and bad things about it. Can this clutch accept my abuse? I dont want to have to replace it in 2 years. I also had a ACT 2100 Street disc in my 93 Talon TSi That did the job but that was FWD and launches were at like 3500rpms and shifting at 6800rpms. I just dont want to get the wrong clutch for my driving style and burn it up.

I ran an ACT HDSS, I liked it. Over 50k in daily driving.

The ACT HDSS is identical to the ACT 2100 which I also had in my 2g.

ACT HD 6 puck. handles abuse well and has a strong grip. I have one on my 400awhp evo. Competition is trash IMHO.

The one on STM link is the same as what English Racing reviewed, the one from topspeedsales is not the HD version, thus the cheaper price. You want PN 5152-2100

^^^^^ i second this. make sure you get the correct one. i just had mine installed about a week ago and its one of the best clutches i've had in my car so far. i had a act hdss, a comp stage 4 and now the comp stage 2 hd.
