Fwiw, my car was more than fine to just drive around town with a 2.3rpm+6466.

The 2.3+6466+all supporting mods was good for a tad over 700whp at Buschur.

Hta 86 would be my choice. I prefer forced performance over precision any day and there turbos last longer and they have better customer service at fp

is this just pure biased fiction or do you have facts or proof of this?

can't believe how many random posts i read about how PTE's are pure junk, funny thing is they sell them by the truck load to real racers and us.they must be doing something right.

Personally, I'd go with a GTX3582. It's a solid 725whp turbo on E85. The GST Impreza L seems to be doing pretty well in Global Time Attack this year on it. A number of cars running World Time Attack this year are also running it.

As for PTE or any other turbo brand, just do a google search and make up your own mind.

Hey Op im actually having my car built pretty soon and am going with a 2.3l. For turbo ive been reading alot and was pretty set on the hta86r until a couple friends suggested pte 6266, 6466. Im not a fanboy of either I just want something thats going to be reliable and make good power. Pte does make good turbos but I have read of more guys having problems with them than the hta series. Thus im going to spend the little extra and go the hta86 route as Ive seen multiple threads on what it can do.

I havent heard of any hta failures (not saying there hasnt been any) but ive heard of pte. They definetely are good and all but I think they sell so good because they are cheaper overall compared to the hta series.

Couldn't agree more. Exact same thing I said above.

PT6466

To offer another point to this since you said "decrease daily drivability", I actually liked my laggy 10:1 2.0L/35R combo for daily driving better than my 2.4L/IX Turbo, as I could just cruise around town out of boost before and get Honda-like gas milage lol.
exactly.what is there not to like about lag,as long as you have the top end to follow it up?

however,i only race my car in a straight line.

if i wanted to race around a track,i would go no bigger than a 35 on a 2.4LR,but i don't.the only track racing in my are is scca and i tried it once and never got out of 2nd gear,no thanks.wot, slam brakes, wot, slam brakes, wot, slam brakes.very borinf and very hard on the car imo.

The only way I would go to a 6466 is if or when my HTA86 grenades. I would only do so because FP lost their mind on turbo pricing. Everything is going up but our paychecks.. lol

Very few people actually get enjoyment from their cars above 600whp.

ludicrous.
