Exedy Twin Clutch Issues - Need some help
Exedy Twin Clutch Issues - Need some help
I have an Exedy Twin HD about 1500 miles on it now and a 4,000 miles on the fully built tranny and transfercase by AWD Motorsports. When it was put in it shifted perfect, every gear was like butter, but was always noisey. The TOB rattles like no other, so loud and even between shifts but i heard that Exedy TOB were junk to begin with and to replace with the OEM TOB, i havent yet. After i put 1,000 Miles on it i was getting lock out in 1st and reverse when the car was stopped or started. It still shifts great just not 1st or reverse. If the car is off it goes in every gear perfectly. If i dont start the car in 1st or reverese i cant get into any gear. I have just replaced the slave cylinder, that free'd it up a little bit and with enough struggle i can get it into first and reverse with the pedal adjusted as far as it can go.
Any ideas or help would be great.
Thanks in Advance.

i had the exact same thing happen to me with an Exedy Twin HD,after even less miles.it is now adjusted all the way out and still locking out of 1st and reverse.it actually shifts OK,but is incredibly loud.
found this link, but it's probably too late in my case.i ordered a new QuarterMaster.i'm done with Exedy,$3500+ for a triple push style,no thanks.
thought about carbonetics triple, but also very expensive and i have heard horror stories about them as well also thought about Tilton twin, but didn't want to spend $4500 and have to replace it next year.

I think the clutch is trashed, it slipped completely during the tune at 420HP at 20lbs on Buschur's Mustang Dyno. $410 dollars wasted for 10 mins on the dyno. I'm not really sure which route i'm going to go as far as clutches but this is a huge bummer and setback. Now the car won't be ready for the shootout.
