Maybe I will! Would be kinda cool to run all Brad penn products. They have gear oils for the T-case and rear end too. I don't think I'll risk them yet, but why not try my 6 speed first. The price doesn't matter so much too me, just wanna test it

I would stick with full synthetics that can withstand higher temperatures than fossil-based oils.

Well I ordered 3 quarts of Brad Penn GL-4 80w90. I know many may not like it because it's not synthetic but I'd like to try it, since it's a brad penn product. Now when I dyno the new Xona turbo I have, I'll still have the Motul in it at first, then change when the interval comes up.

Like I said in this thread (or maybe it was different one, I dunno), "you can lead a horse to water......"
No matter how much good info you give some people, they just can't seem to take it LOL.

Why not? Their oil is good. So why not try the trans fluid too

I have ODUB's OG MR, still on the same trans with over 550whp. Currently has 225k miles and running the Castrol SyntorqLT. No issues, silky smooth and holding 35psi on an EF4.

I looked up the Castrol LT and didn't find anything. Am I searching wrong?

Dodge dealers have it. So do GM dealers. I used to sell it, but it was too much of a PITA. I bought a case from the local Dodge dealer and saved a decent amount.

A brief synopsis:

Syntorq LT SAE 75W-85, API GL -4 is a premium high performance, synthetic gear lubricant for synchronized manual transmissions. The all new "clean slate" approach enables Syntorq LT to provide consistent performance and durability under the most severe operating conditions due to its unique polymer free formula. It has been designed primarily as a problem solving gear lubricant for manual transmissions to provide reduced gearshift effort at low temperatures. Syntorq LT is available through General Motors (Part #12346190) and Chrysler (Part #4637579) dealerships. Please contact your local dealership."

OEM calls for the levels to be checked at 15k miles, and replaced at 30k miles. I've usually never made it to 30k miles just because I've done other maintenance, and hit it while the car was down. I never changed mine before 15-20k miles though. The fluid still looks like new, so it's pretty much a waste of money. Kind of like when OEM calls for 5k mile oil changes, and people do it at 2500-3000 miles. The cars can actually safely go longer than 5k miles. This has been proven over, and over with oil analysis. That's just the cover your *** number the manufacturer uses.

Under normal circumstances yes. If I only daily drove my car, my intervals would be much longer. But pretty much the only miles my car sees are very hard miles. So, I change oil before each race and my transmission fluid about every 6mos.
If I had a 5spd, it would probably be once per year or less.

Yeah, they recommend sooner for severe use. If my car was a track only car, I'd change it a lot more often too.

Update: Finally got my car running 2 months ago with my new Forward facing setup. Running on low boost (23 psi) my car makes 465whp with the new Xona Rotor 7164. I have about 1200 miles on it this year so far with the Motul 300 fluid, and I've just been beating the crap out of my MR trans, this new turbo is a lot of fun compared to my FP red.

Also made it to the drag strip this past weekend, only got 2 passes in but my first pass was 12.12 at 120 mph and my second an 11.4 at 122mph. My personal best to date. Car did great with launching. Launch limit was set at 5800, and riding out 4th to 8400-8500rpm to finish the 1320. Drove it to and from the track with out issue. No grinds or anything. I plan on running a lot more this year and hopefully getting close to a 10 second pass on E85.

Im now hoping my trans last until late next year before i get a rebuild. everything seems fine but we'll see how it goes with all the racing this year. Motul 300 75w90 FTW Link below for Race video
