Noob Question about Limits of Evo MR Transmission

I want to ask you guys if anyone knows the limits of TQ and HP of a Evo MR 6 Speed Transmission?. I use the search but don't get exactly numbers.

My Evo IX is stock now, but soon I get an AMS Intercooler, Tanabe Exhaust, Turbo Outlet, Downpipe, Induction and freaks me out the possibilities of my transmission broke.

A couple of friends tell me about that transmission is too week (a butter transmission they say ) and I should get the 5 speed transmission.

Thanks for your help.

Greetings.

I completely forgot this thread. Basically my drive its weekend drive and no road racing or drag racing. Only some trackdays eventually. After all modificatios I do in the car, this reach 300 AWHP and 260 lb/ft Tq.

With that numbers do I have any risk in your opinion?

Tons of threads out there. My 6 speed held up fine to 400+ ft/lbs but again I only had a few thousand miles on it at that power level. Only freeway runs too, no autocross or drag.

i beat on my MR trans around what you have for power, i had a little more tq. I did a handful of trips to the dragstrip and 2 autox's. it never gave me a single issue.

but if you do treat it like ****, it can give out. and if you do any track days where it gets the trans very hot, it can give out too, even without launching.

i think you'll be fine.

I got 335ft lbs and it has been grind 3rd for a while. I only do highway pulls no launches or anything. Bought a 5 speed and Jon the process of swapping so I can go and put more power to it.

Technical torque limit is 295 ft/lbs. People have blown 4th gear with pretty low tq numbers but depends on gearbox history and maintenance and how you drive. I run lower boost in 4th-6th gears to keep tq low.

What maintenance have you do in your transmissions?
I only do the maintenance of owners manual, with OEM fluids, do you use any particular oils or friction modifiers?

Greetings.

Ive been running at least 350whp on my car depending on which tune I use for the past 35/k miles. I have used only Oem fluids and have done scheduled tranny fluid changes. I do not launch this car and have done plenty of street pulls and 1 road racing day. It has held up fine and plan on doing more track days this upcoming season. At the power level your going to be at you have nothing to worry about. Also 1-3rd gear are the same gears as the 5 speed it just that fourth is a thinner gear to accommodate the additional gear. Do some research and listen to those who have these trannies and at what level there was failure was at if any. Any tranny that can hold up to almost double the power level at stock form isnt necessarily a bad one. Take care of it and you'll be fine. There more stout than most people believe.

I am putting down around 330 and beating on it at track days. There are a couple of killers:

Heat
Impact (launching)
Clutch

Heat comes from track days. I built a custom trans cooler setup to address this.

Impact from launching is just slamming the gears with the force of suddenly throwing the car forwards. I don't drag race, but it's logical that the 6 speed with slightly thinner gears isn't the best choice for that application

Clutch is one peolpe don't talk about but I have learned that proper adjustment of aftermarket clutch is actually pretty rare. Once I got it right it was night and day. Often your gears don't break, but your syncro a get damaged, ad that is more of a sign of release issues than gear strength.

At your intent and power level you are fine. Proper maintenance and good clutch adjustment so there is absolutely no drap and you are good,
