rear end noise

Problem is Mitsubishi doesn't sell rear diff pinion bearing preload shims. So I had to make some on a lathe from some shims I matched up off McMaster Carr. That is if you have a pinion bearing issue.
Hi I just read ur thread and I been looking for answers to what this noise that seems to be coming from the rear end I had a 12 plate maxlock conversion done to the rear end and my tcase & trans are built I did one crazy launch and was fine afterwards until later that day I noticed a whiny sound emmiting from the rear could it be the driveshaft carrier bearings?

If the sound changes on and off load (eg, accel and decel) it's most likely pinion bearings.
