Boost leak? need help!

About a month ago I cleaned my throttle body, i guess i did not tighten up the clamp tight enough and my upper intercooler hose popped off a couple of times, i got a brand new clamp and that fixed the issue. Now every time i get on boost and get right at 4k rpm i feel like the engine over revs and goes no where. My boost gauge reads about 20psi so im clueless on what the issue might be no CEL.

Well what psi are you tuned for is the first question.
Second, did you perform a boost leak test?

Not tuned, and havent performed a boost leak test dont think i have the right equipment for that. Might have to take it to a shop and have them perform a boost leak test.

If my boost gauge is reading the right boost would a boost leak still be possible?

Yes, it is still possible that you have a leak. Any time after I change or modify any intercooler pipes I like to boost leak test my cars. You can make a tester for little cost, or you can buy one online. It will certainly be a lot cheaper than taking it to a shop.

sounds like a slipping clutch.

if the car is going no where but the engine is still revving it means the clutch isn't grabbing, usually.

Thats not a bad guess either. Do you smell clutch when the window is down? and have you launched your car recently....

If the clutch was bad would he be hitting 20 psi? Since the engine would not be getting proper load.....

Yes. With a 2-step you can build boost..... Clutch means nothing, LOL

And yes, I believe the OP has a clutch problem.

I did launch the car about a couple of weeks ago, and i did get that burnt clutch smell real bad, and ive noticed my clutch pedal is real hard compared to other cars ive driven lately. Never really experienced a slipping clutch would it feel like the engine over revs inbetween a shift?

was really hoping it was not my clutch
